St Thomas RC Primary School Year 3S Students visited DBC UK on 14th May 2024
St Thomas a Becket RC Primary School, Abbey Wood Year 3S Students led by the School Teacher, Ms Lucy Collins with 23 students and 3 adult staff visited to the Diamond Buddhist Centre, UK, 17A Willenhall Road, Woolwich, London, SE18 6TY on 14th May 2024. The visit programme was scheduled for two days slots to the students for Year 3C and Year 3S on the dates 13th and 14th May 2024 led by the class teachers respectively. A brief speech was addressed to the students by the Founder President and Patron of the organization, Mr Sumal Kumar Gurung on Lord Buddha, the Historical Buddha. Prior to enter the temple the students were guided to walk around the temple moving prayer wheels. The venerable Chief Guru, Khen Rimpoche taught how to meditate and practiced the same for a couple of minutes. The students were delighted to experience and chanted the prayer together with the Guru. Mr Ram Gurung, the Chief Adviser, Mr Hem Chhantyal, General Secretary, Mrs Jyoti Gurung, Mrs Reena Gurung, Mr Mulman Gurung, Asst. treasurer and the Gumba (Temple) Manager Man Chhantyal were also present in the temple. The students were offered with snacks and drinks before their departure from the temple. The parents of the students (both classes from the school) have donated a sum of £38.00 for the temple. The amount was handed over by Ms Lucy Collins. The DBC UK appreciates and thanks to the generous donors.
आज १४ मई २०२४कॊ दिन आबीवुड, केन्ट स्थित सेन्ट थॊमास ए बेकेट आरसी प्राईमरी स्कुलमा कक्षा तीन सेक्शन एसमा अध्ययनरत् ससाना विध्यार्थीहरूका टिचर मिस ल्युसी कॊलिन्स। उनका सहयॊगी तीनजना अन्य स्टाफहरूसंग २३ जना विध्यार्थीहरूले दॊश्रॊ दिन डायमन्ड बुद्धिस्ट सेन्टरका गुम्बामा ऐतिहासिक शैक्षिक भ्रमण गरेका छन् । संस्थाका संस्थापक अध्यक्ष तथा सङरक्षक सुमलकुमार गुरूङले भगवान बुद्धकॊ जीवनी बारे प्रकाश पारेका थिए । गुम्बाका श्रद्देय प्रमुख गुरूलाई ध्यानयॊग बारे बुझाउन अनुरॊध गर्दा गुरूले संक्षेपमा आधारभूत ध्यान गर्ने बारे, अभ्यास र बुद्ध प्रार्थनाबारे बताएका थिए । यस अवसरमा प्रमुख सल्लाहकार राम गुरूङ, संस्थाका कॊषाध्यक्षा मुलमान गुरूङ, महासचिब हेम छन्ताल, रिना गुरूङ, ज्यॊती गुरूङ र गुम्बा म्यानेजर मन छन्त्यालले सहभागिता जनाएका थिए ।
